FAQs

  • Question:How does wireless communication work on the Nintendo DS system? Does it use the internet?
Answer:With the Nintendo DS wireless communication feature, players can connect with other DS owners within a small radius of approximately 65 feet. In games with wireless capabilities, players can link up for multiplayer action with friends (if available) or transfer data without the use of cables or the internet. For example, in the upcoming Petz Nursery game, players can send their baby petz from Petz Nursery to Petz Dogz Talent Show and Hamsterz Superstarz wirelessly to continue to watch them grow. This is done through wireless communication and does not require connection to the internet or the collection of private information.
  • Question:What is the difference between single-card play and multi-card play multiplayer games on the DS?
Answer:On the Nintendo DS, there are 2 types of multiplayer games: single-card play and multi-card play games. In single-card play games, only one player needs to own the game for all players to play. That one player can then wirelessly transfer the data required for her game to other players' Nintendo DS systems so they all can play. In multi-card play games, players can wirelessly connect to other DS owners to play a game; however, all players must have that particular game card to play.
  • Question:What are the most popular ESRB content descriptors for Ubisoft's casual games? And what do they mean?
Answer:ESRB ratings and content descriptors rate the appropriateness of a particular game's content; however, it does not speak to a game's difficulty. On Parent's Corner, all Ubisoft games are rated E or E10+, meaning that the games' content is suitable for children above the ages of 6 and 10, respectively. Three common, recurring content descriptors for Ubisoft's casual games are Comic Mischief, Mild Suggestive Themes, and Mild Language. Comic Mischief signals that a particular game may contain depictions or dialogue involving slapstick or suggestive humor. Mild Suggestive Themes refer to mild provocative references or materials. Finally, Mild Language may suggest mild use of profanity in the game. For more information regarding the ESRB, visit http://www.esrb.org.
